What Entertainment is in the chalet?

The Crows Nest is equipped with a 32″ smart TV where you can view freeview TV as well as log in to your own netflix, Prime, disney+ etc subscriptions.

Wifi is available.

There is a CD/Radio.

There are some cards / Board games.

There is also the best entertainment looking out of the window at the views and wildlife!

Can I check in early?

An earlier check in time of 1pm can be requested, but is subject to availability and a £25 additional fee.

How do we get onto the Island?

The Isle of Wight can be reached by either passenger or car ferry from Lymington, Portsmouth and Southampton. Full information can be found here

What is the Address of the Chalet?

Directions to Sandown Bay Holiday Centre

You can either follow your Sat Nav to postcode: PO36 8QP or follow the directions below:

Lymington/Yarmouth – from Yarmouth take the A3054 to Newport then follow A3030/A3056 signposted to Sandown. At the traffic lights at Lake, turn left onto A3055 and continue to mini island where you turn right (Avenue Road) to seafront. Then take left going past the zoo – 500 metres past here on the right is the turning for Sandown Bay Holiday Centre.

Southampton/Cowes – from East Cowes take A3021/A3054 Newport Road then A3020/A3056 road which is signed Sandown. At Lake turn left onto A3055 and continue to mini island where you turn right (Avenue Road) to seafront. Then take left going past the zoo – 500 metres past here on the right is the turning for Sandown Bay Holiday Centre.

Portsmouth/Fishbourne – from ferry terminal take a left turn onto A3054 to Ryde then the A3055 through to Brading. At the Yar Bridge Inn pub traffic lights, turn left and follow the road until you reach the mini roundabout and turn right. 3/4 mile on the left is the entrance to Sandown Bay Holiday Centre.

How to find the chalet on the site?

When turned into the site, follow the road all the way up until it bends around sharply to the left at the end. Continue to follow it around and when you reach the end park in the top furthest corner which will bring you just behind the chalet.

Does the Site have any Facilities?

The site itself currently doesn’t have any additional facilities other than those in the chalet. There are green spaces suitable for children to play and free parking available. Cafes, pubs and restaurants are nearby, and you can also arrange for a supermarket to deliver supplies to your chalet for your stay.

There are plans to redevelop the main clubhouse in future.

Payment Process

To book you can complete the booking form here. We will come back to you to confirm your booking. Once confirmed:
– 50% of your total bill for your holiday is due immediately. This is non refundable.
– 2 months before your stay, the remaining 50% balance is due.
– 2 months before your stay, a £100 refundable security/damage deposit is due.
– When you depart, your £100 security deposit will be refunded back to you within 7 days, once the chalet has been checked for damages.

We accept bank transfers, cheques and Paypal.

Where can we Park our Car?

Free parking is available just behind the chalet in a parking area. Please do not park on the grass areas.

How many people can sleep in the chalet?

The chalet is a 2 bedroom chalet sleeping up to 4 people. A double bed in the main bedroom, bunk beds in the other bedroom.

Do you welcome Children?

Yes! Children are more than welcome in our chalet.

Is a Travel cot available for our baby?

Yes, the chalet can be supplied with a travel cot, although we do require you to bring your own bedding for it.  The cost to hire a travel cot is £10 per week.

What Heating is there in the chalet?

Electric Heaters are provided. Electricity is included free of charge.

Do I need to pay for electricity?

No, electricity is included free of charge.

What Laundry facilities are there?

The chalet does have a small washing machine that takes approximately half of a normal size load.

There are currently no laundry facilities on site and you would need to use a laundrette.

What cooking facilities are there?

The kitchen is supplied with oven with 4 ring hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge with freezer compartment sink, and a host of plates bowls, glasses, mugs, oven trays, saucepans etc. Everything you need to prepare meals.

Does the chalet have Internet Access / Wifi?

Yes, the chalet does have Wifi at broadband speeds. Access is included free of charge, however we cannot guarantee the speed.

Mobile data access is usually available depending on network/signal.

Is the chalet Wheelchair Accessible

Due to the decking, there is a step up and therefore it is not wheelchair accessible.  If you have your own ramps, it may be possible but please contact us to discuss.

What condition do I have to leave the chalet in when I depart?

When you check out, you must leave the chalet tidy, all kitchen items clean and generally leave it in the tidy condition that it was in when you arrived.

What Time do I need to Check Out?

On your day of departure, you need to leave by 10am. Please ensure that the chalet is left tidy, with all kitchen items clean.

What Time Can I Check In?

On your day of arrival you can check in anytime from 4pm onwards.

It is a self check-in process, details of how to access the chalet will be sent to you in advance of your stay.

How do I dispose of my Rubbish?

If you have rubbish you can take it in bags to ve placed in one of the large wheeled bins around the site. The nearest bins to the chalrt are in the middle of the car park area behind the chalet.
Please ensure no rubbish is left outside of the cjalet at any time, and all rubbish and bjns are emptied when you check out.

My name is David Prodger and I own the Crow’s Nest along with my wife and parents. As a family run chalet and one that we use for our own holidays as well as letting out, we care about the chalet, our customers and our reputation. With backgrounds and experience in Customer Service and Property, we know how important it is that you feel your holiday is being looked after by someone who cares. Can I charge my Electric Car?

Not on site. Currently there are no electric car charging points on site. Please do not attempt to use electricity from the chalet.

Why do the prices differ so much depending on dates?

Supply and demand. Demand is higher in the summer months and during school holidays and hence the prices are higher at those times.

Do I need to notify you if I am bringing a dog/s?

Yes, you need to inform us at time of booking as it is a requirement of the lease to notify the managing agent for permission.

Is Smoking Allowed?

Smoking is NOT allowed in the chalet.

Dog Rules?

Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times when in the grounds of the site.

Dogs must be kept under control and all dog mess cleared up.

Dogs must not be left unattended in the chalet.

Dogs are not permitted on the furniture in the chalet.

Are Dogs allowed?

You can bring a maximum of 2 small or medium sized dogs, or 1 large dog.
